The Animated Series' Showrunner Has Seen Your Season 2 Predictions — And She Has Positive Updates

The highly-awaited Season 2 of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel debuts on the streaming platform soon, and fan speculation has been rampant.

The first season presents a large cast of characters residing in the afterlife, sets them at odds accompanied by musical numbers about their clashes, and establishes tense rivalries and emotional bonds that fuel audience devotion.

The community's expectations for the new season differ greatly, but certain themes recur frequently: Could Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Might we learn more about the binding agreement affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Naturally, I don't produce the show with audience demands as the main goal," the showrunner commented recently. "But I believe that me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She says her long-term vision is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by the production companies, which produce the series.

That could imply viewers have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they may be surprised at how quickly season 2 moves, and how many of what they're anticipating unfolds now.

"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," the creator notes. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some really amazing disclosures, some really cool origin tales, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — particularly in the form of audience prediction charts.

"I've seen a couple people make a prediction grid about the new season," she says. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've already completed some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
